Mary Barbara Woolverton

December 29, 1930 – March 2, 2015

It is with great sadness we announce that Mary Barbara Woolverton (Roy/King) passed away peacefully on March 2, 2015 at Trillium Lodge in Parksville, BC. Mary was born in Athabasca, Alberta to parents Bella (McLeod) and Phillip Roy. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Kirk; brother, Donald; sister, Clara; nieces, Judy and Linda; and son-in-law, Murray. Mary is survived by sons, Cecil, Rocky (Jean), Gregory; and daughter, Rhonda. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sean (Gwen), Emily, Zachary, Danielle, Sara; step-grandchildren, David (Shauna), Sherrie (Blair); great-grandchildren, Anna and Chloe; step-great granddaughter, Kaleigh; nieces, Margo (Keith), Leslie (Mark); and nephew, Ross.

Mary and her husband Kirk, lived in Parksville for nearly 30 years where they made many friends. Mary loved her time working as a veterinarian’s assistant in Calgary. Throughout the years, she and Kirk had many pets and she enjoyed being able to pass this love of animals onto their children. She also enjoyed bowling, cards, reading, and gardening with her husband. Mary loved visiting friends, family, and attending events at the Legion.

She will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, and a good friend. Mary’s family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Trillium Lodge who made her days there as comfortable as possible.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Yates Funeral

Chapel, 1000 Allsbrook Road, Parksville, BC. Reception to follow.
