In Loving Memory ~
Mary Beverley Lasure died peacefully in her sleep on May 20, 2024.
Known as Beverley, she was born in Port Alberni on Vancouver Island to Mary and Arthur North on September 13, 1928.
After spending a year at UBC, she moved to Winter Harbour where her father and his three brothers brought their families to become salmon fishers. There she married W.D. Moore and together they had three sons, Patrick, William, and Michael.
She was predeceased by both W.D. (Bill) Moore and her second husband Jack Lasure and her son Michael.
Beverley was a true pioneer woman. She lived with Bill Moore and family on a float-camp in a west coast inlet with no road to it. The freight boat came once a week from Vancouver to deliver food, clothing, equipment, reading material, and the mail.
After she married Jack Lasure they moved to Qualicum where they enjoyed mushroom collecting, camping, and golf. Beverley was a member of the Qualicum Golf Club for many years where she drove three holes-in-one and won the Championship twice.
Beverley is survived by her two sons Patrick and William, daughter's in-law Eileen and Sophie, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Beverley has requested that her ashes be spread in the ocean in front of her parents' home in Winter Harbour.
