MARY JOY LIND
Sept. 30, 1921 - Jan. 31,2011
Born in Keremoes, B.C., Joy spent her school years growing up in Vancouver. She married her sweetheart, Andrew Lind in 1942. She is lovingly remembered by son Gary (Cynthia), daughter Andrea, sister Edna Irvine, grandchildren Randy (Rosealee), Debra (Charley), Michael (Natalie) & great-grandchildren Tamara, Ken, Byron & Clayton and nieces & nephews, other relatives & good friends.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers, nurses and other staff at Arrowsmith Lodge and to the volunteers from Hospice, for the very loving care that Joy received. This was Mom's home from Nov 4/04 till she passed on the morning of Jan. 31/11. Joy was predeceased by husband, Andrew Lind in 1951 and second husband, William Polinchuk; daughter, Terry Burton Mar. 29/09; mother & father, Mabel & Frank Smith; a brother, Raymond Smith; and sister, Muriel Hodgson; and aunts, uncles & in-laws.
At Joy's request, no service will be held. The family will have a "Celebration of Life" for Joy, to be held later in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society. Mom will be greatly missed by her family and friends. "Rest in Peace, Mom!"
