VOSS, Mary Walker
Passed away September 05, 2002 in Parksville, B.C.
Born July 15, 1905 in Kirkcaldy, Scotland to John MacKay and Mary Ross nee Walker. Mrs. Voss was predeceased by her parents, her husband Christian; son John (Mac); sisters Catherine Biggs (Herbert) and Euphemia, all of Yorkton, SK; half-brothers, James, Alexander (Hanna), Harry (Jessie) of Minnedosa, MB, John (Margaret) of Saskatoon, SK, and half-sister Lily Neale (Arthur) also of Minnedosa, MB.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Lou Ella, nee Walder of Yorkton, SK, four grandchildren, Larry of Nanoose Bay, BC, Chris of Prince Albert, SK, Jon and Marcy Shaw (James) of Yorkton, SK, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Voss came to Canada in 1910 with the family who took up farming in Clanwilliam, MB until 1924, then moved to Yorkton, SK to set up Mackay’s Paint Shop. Mrs. Voss worked with her father until his death in 1936 at which time she took over and ran the business. When she retired she moved to Vancouver, B.C. and later to Nanoose Bay, B.C. and eventually to Trillium Lodge in Parksville, B.C.
There will be no service by her special request. Cremation.
