Mavis R. Abbott (nee Rowe)
October 31, 1921- July 28, 2015
In her ninety-forth year, our beautiful Mavis finished her work in this life and the Lord took her peacefully while she slept, to the many who have long awaited her.
Mavis lived a rich and diverse life and was an accomplished athlete, musician, dancer and professional woman, ahead of her time.
Mavis pursued many interests in her life and excelled at
all of them. She was known for her effervescence, sharp wit, generous personality and was admired by all she touched in her life and had as many friends as one could possibly have.
Mavis was predeceased by her husband Robert P. Abbott (Bob) of fifty years in 1996 and tragically, her cherished son Thomas (Tommy) in 1998. She is survived by her daughters Janice Abbott (Ross Ward), and Sheila Abbott, her grandchildren Tom Abbott Jr, Mary Katherine Abbott, Erin Shoemaker, Andrew Todsen, Matthew Abbott, Jade Abbott and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Our family could not put into words how very grateful we are to the staff at The Gardens in Qualicum for their devotion, care and love for our mother over these many years.
We will be holding an intimate, family gathering in August.
