MAX R. BAASKE
Born May 27, 1937 in Edmonton, Alta
Died Dec 27, 2014 in Parksville, BC
at the age of 77.
Max was pre-deceased by his parents, Max and
Maria and older brother Dieter. He is survived by his sister Elizabeth of Surrey, BC, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and several great-great nieces and nephews.
Max grew up in Alberta, moving from Edmonton to the Peace Country before returning to settle in
Edmonton, where he began his 35 year career with the Alberta Research Council. Max’s work became his life-long hobby, and his collection of rocks and gems is legendary.
Max and Mabel met in 1961 and they were married in Edmonton in September of 1962. They retired to Parksville in 1992 where Max pursued his love of the outdoors and rock collecting right up to the time of his death.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 3rd, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Edmunds Anglican Church in Parksville, B.C.
Internment of ashes will follow in the church
cemetery, to be followed with a reception
in the church hall.
