It is with profound sadness that the family of Maxine Cox "Mac" announce her sudden and unexpected passing October 5th 2019 in Nanaimo BC. She would have been 85 in November.
Maxine was predeceased by her loving husband of 38 years, Cliff Cox (1991) and her mother Mary Greig (2013). She is survived by her children Rae (Gary) Mix, Laurie Madison, Jan Cox (David Adams) and Doug Cox (Marcy Jaster) and her brother Ron Greig and his family.
Maxine had 16 grandchildren. Throughout the years she cherished a unique and special bond with each of them. She had 24 great grandchildren (and counting!)
Family was top priority to her and we treasure the thought that she is with Dad again.
She was active volunteering in the community, tirelessly serving her church and the many causes she believed in. Maxine was recently awarded by The Red Cross for 30 years of volunteer service.
Mom treasured many lifelong friendships. She took great joy in the camaraderie of The Red Hat Society and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
A very dear friend of 60 years put it this way:
"My friend, Mac, was always interesting, interested and ready to listen or help in anyway she could. Always there with her ready laugh."
She will be missed forever... Loads of Love Mom... Celebration of Life
