Melvin David Jones

January 3, 1940 to November 21, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of David shares the news of his passing. He died peacefully with his wife by his side at Trillium Hospice after fighting a courageous battle with Cancer.

He leaves behind his loving wife Rosalie, brothers Bill of Edmonton AB, Jim and wife Sylvia of Sparwood BC, sister Evelyn and husband David of Fort Saskatchewan AB and brother Jerry and wife Ina of Bali Indonesia and his brother-in -law Rick Traber. His son Michael and wife Sandra, daughter Michelle and son Darren and wife Harj and his step-daughter RaeAnna and husband Brian. His dearly loved grandchildren Jordan, Cayne, Cole, Matisse, Miah, and Ben. As well as, his many wonderful friends and his special Angel Reine.

Dave’s Career in the meat business spanned 50 years. First as a butcher in his own business in Edmonton AB and then as a meat manager for Safeway Canada. Dave transferred from Edmonton to Calgary to Vancouver and then retirement in his very favourite place Qualicum Beach.

Dave was an avid archer and a member of Vancouver Island Sharp shooters league and loved to “shoot paper”.

The family would like to thank Dr. Thor Fridrikkson, Dr. Marlene Vanderweyde, all of the home care nurses, and the lovely caring staff at Trillium Hospice.

Celebration of Life will be held at Yates Funeral Home. Location: Yates Serenity Room,
