Muriel Avoin Baxter of Parksville, BC passed away peacefully June 7, 2014 one month shy of her 93rd birthday. She was predeceased by her husband, Ron by only ten weeks. Muriel was also predeceased by brothers, Vivian and Lyle; sisters, Nora (Currie) and Evelyn (Epp). She is survived by step children, Rick Baxter and Shelley (Ray) Baxter; two grand children; one great grandson; as well as her nieces and nephews.

Muriel was born in Leslie Saskatchewan on July 7, 1921 to John and Annie Reynolds. She worked for many years in Saskatoon and Regina before moving to Newton, BC to open a hair salon. There she met her husband, Ron. Ron and Muriel both enjoyed lawn bowling and spending the winter near Palm Springs California. They travelled widely for many years. Muriel loved all sorts of craft work. She was known for her wonderful smile and scrumptious shortbread cookies.
