1943 - 2012

Our beloved mother passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 8, 2012. Mom was born in Manitoba and in 1946 the family moved to Coombs to Sparrow’s Roost. She attended the French Creek School and then on to Qualicum High School, graduating in 1961. She met her soul mate, Roy Hagenbuch, and they were married in August of 1961. Her two daughters Ramona and Michele followed shortly after.

Mom was a stay at home mom and when the girls graduated from high school she began her career in the flower industry. She worked at Qualicum Plant Shop, then on to Pharmasave, and then she bought Parksville Florist, owning that for 10 years.

Upon retirement, mom got involved with the Golden Oldies Cars, where you could see her around town in her 1973 Sprint. She was also a huge part of her only grandchild, Rory’s life, attending his school functions, baseball & football games. She was a proud mother and grandma. She was also involved with the Coombs Food Bank, Coombs Church and The Coombs Museum. She was an avid gardener and very talented at sewing and all crafts. She was often seen walking her faithful 4 legged friend, Riley. We as a family realize that mom is happy to be with dad as she never got over his passing. May you both have lots of fun again!

Left to mourn our dear mother and grandmother are Michele & Dale Keddy, Ramona Hagenbuch and loving grandson Rory Knapton.
