November 11, 1937 - June 13, 2021
Myrna (Nana C.) passed away peacefully at home on June 13th, 2021. Carl and Myrna had just celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on May 29th, 2021 and a fond memory of that day was the two of them sitting together listening to the strains of Tommy Edwards.
Myrna was born in Vancouver, BC to Dorothy and Ivan Smith. Her family moved to Victoria where she grew up and met Carl who was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy. They started a family together and moved to Kindersley, SK for 11 years before returning to Vancouver Island.
Myrna was a member of the Victoria girls drill team and an active bowler, curler and golfer. She was always involved in her children and grandchildren's lives and activities and was the biggest fan and supporter at any of their sporting events.
Myrna was a loving wife to husband Carl Christiaens and devoted Mother to Linda (Clay) Booth, Gordon (Maureen) Christiaens, and Wayne Christiaens. Nana C. will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Kara (Sean) Walsh, Megan (Joe) Cook, Carly Christiaens, Cole Christiaens, and Nikki Christiaens as well as her three great granddaughters Ivy Walsh, Brooke Walsh and Maisy Cook.
She also leaves behind her brother Charlie (Ann) Smith and nephew Dima Smith.
