Nathan Lloyd WOOD

Nathan Lloyd WOOD

WOOD, Nathan Lloyd

Sept 10, 1993 – Aug 10, 2013

Nathan was born September 10, 1993 in Campbell River and passed away tragically on August 10, 2013 in Vancouver, BC.

Nathan had just visited his Mom in Surrey then left enjoying a motorcycle ride to see his girlfriend.

Thank you to the Doctor’s, Nurses and staff at VGH who tried for 4 1/2 hours to save our precious son’s life.

Nathan is dearly missed by his parents Steve and Ileana, brothers Buddy Wood and Derrick Suter, Grandmother Theresa Taylor, Grandfather Nelson Wood, Uncle’s & Aunts; Carl, Rick & Susan, Gary & Eskidar and Mike & Susan Wood, Jack & Mel Taylor, Darcy Wood, their families, and many other loving family, friends and co-workers, … and his faithful companion and 10 year old dog Jose.

Nathan enjoyed sports, reading and learning at an early age. He loved to swim, then Tai Kwon Do and T-Ball, followed by several years in North Surrey Soccer, Whalley Little League Baseball, North Surrey Football and LA Matheson High School Rugby. Nathan enjoyed the hard work in rough sports making lasting friendships along the way. He took his exercise and daily workout as serious as his passion for reading and continuing his education, while appreciating his great friends and co workers at Finning Canada in Richmond.

Nathan had a keen interest in history and politics and volunteered in the recent provincial election and 2011 municipal election. He was very excited about being accepted at SFU and was looking forward to continuing his post secondary education with evening courses while working full time.

We invite all our family and friends to share with us in a Celebration of Nathan’s Life and Memorial Service, that will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013, 2:00 pm at the Northwood United Church, 8855 156 St, Surrey, BC..

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nathan’s memory to the Huntington Society of Canada , and or the North Surrey Food Bank.
