August 23, 1927 - September 4, 2008
It is with sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of Nellie Romain. She is survived by Evert, her loving husband of 58 years; her three children, Wilma (Tom), Doug (Carol) and Cindy (Terry); 6 grandchildren, Diana, Matt, Andrea, Dallas, Lee and Jesse; 5 great grandchildren; 1 sister and 2 brothers.
Nellie was born in Naaldwijk, Holland and immigrated to Port Alberni in 1950. She was an active member of her church. Her love of music and singing was great and she participated in many community and church choirs on Vancouver Island. In her later years, she developed a passion for flowers and gardening. Those at Nanaimo Seniors Village where she spent her last years all enjoyed her handiwork in the gardens. A special thanks to the nurses and staff for their kindness, patience and excellent care. She will remain in our hearts forever.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday,?September 14, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Knox United Church,
345 Pym Street, Parksville.
