In loving memory ~
Born in the Dutch East Indies on the island of Java where her father was a sea captain.
After the war the family returned to the family home in The Netherlands where she enjoyed her teenage years, then off to teachers college and teaching for 4 years. She married her husband, a medical doctor, in 1957 and emigrated to Canada.
By 1960 they ended up in the small town of Williams Lake BC, where they raised a family and stayed in the area for 36 years. They retired to Vancouver Island, ending up in Qualicum Beach.
Johanna was an avid potter for 50 years and also found joy in her garden throughout her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas, in 2013 and her sister, Annie, and brother, Floris. She is survived by her three sons Michael, Brent and Roy.
