Norine Taylor

March 20, 1932 - November 14, 2016

With November’s full moon oh-so-close to our earth, Norine (Lange) Taylor left her body behind.  Ever graceful, she had many symptom-free months with cancer, then painlessly declined to a sudden death after a last sleep in her own bed.

Norine lived 84 years as beloved friend, wife and mother; granny, aunt, cousin and popular neighbor.  She and Harry raised their family in Ucluelet, then retired away from the rain to Qualicum Beach.  Matriarch of an extended clan, family was the center of her large life.

Homemaker, gardener, crafter and curler, Norine was youthful and sassy, supportive and fun.  She was known for her enthusiastic dancing on visits to Mexico, Norine lived the wisdom of her mother, Elsie: “It’s a great old life if you don’t weaken”.

Her parents, husband, sister, and son Bill, all have Norine with them now.  Grief flows through her daughters Beverly and Valerie and grandchildren Brooke and Leif, as unspent love with no place to go.

Many thanks to the doctors, caregivers, neighbors and visitors at the close of Mom’s life.
