Dad passed away peacefully in his favorite chair at home. He lived his life the way he wanted until his passing. He is survived by his wife Dolly of 55 years, son Tony (Beth), daughter Sharon (Willie) and son Bob, grandchildren Matt, Brittany, Kristy and Justin He is also survived by his sister Irene, brother Larry (Brandie), sister Diane and many nieces and nephews.
Norm was born in Comox, BC and spent his childhood between Courtenay and Denman Island. He started his career in logging at an early age behind the family’s team of horses and continued on to work in coastal camps before settling in to stay at McMillan Bloedels Northwest Bay Division for 30 years until his retirement in 1991.
Over the years he enjoyed many hobbies including raising Quarter Horses, working a trap line near Buckley Bay and restoring old pick-ups and tractors.
After retirement he enjoyed life with Dolly, traveling around in search of old farm and logging equipment, in which he did right up until his passing.
Norm spent his life the way he wanted, surrounded by family and friends. There is great comfort in knowing that he always did things… his way.
The family would like to give special thanks to the first responders and emergency personnel for their help and compassion shown on Dad’s last morning.
There will be no service by Norm’s request
