Norm was born in Comox, BC and spent his childhood between Courtenay and Denman Island. He started his career in logging at an early age behind the family’s team of horses and continued on to work in coastal camps before settling in to stay at McMillan Bloedels Northwest Bay Division for 30 years until his retirement in 1991.

Over the years he enjoyed many hobbies including raising Quarter Horses, working a trap line near Buckley Bay and restoring old pick-ups and tractors.

After retirement he enjoyed life with Dolly, traveling around in search of old farm and logging equipment, in which he did right up until his passing.

Norm spent his life the way he wanted, surrounded by family and friends. There is great comfort in knowing that he always did things... his way.
