July 19, 1938 - June 23, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Patricia (Patty) Neave, just shy of her 83rd birthday, of Parksville, BC at Trillium Hospice, after an extensive battle with cancer.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Gordon Neave, and as the youngest sibling of the Girling family, by her brothers Harry, Tom, Warren, and John, and her sisters Grace, Kay and June.
Patty is survived by her children Gordie (Carole); Judy (Gary); Karen; Penny (Matt), and "adopted" son George (Lynn); her grandchildren Brad (Jamie), Natasha, Gordo (Tiffany), Samantha (Christian), Karen, Briana, Douglass, and great-grandchildren Braxton, Abigail, Grayson, Emma, and many nieces and nephews whom were as close as sisters and brothers to her.
Known as Mom, Aunty, Grandma, Great-grandma, Patty, Pat or Mrs. Claus, her favourite time of year was Christmas and her favourite vacation spot with the family was the Lake in Silverton. She loved her books, and to shop, and the most recent infatuation was with the popular TV show Bridgerton - one can only guess why...
Special thanks to all the nurses, care aides, doctors, and her Nurse Practitioner Liz Gilmour for all their attentive care, and to all her friends and family that have supported her through this, with special mention to Linda Chan and Marg DeHart for their dedicated friendship and care these past months.
A family celebration will be organized at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice or to BC Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
