October 15, 1936 - March 22, 2019
Suddenly on March 22, 2019, we lost our mother Patricia Vera Stahley (nee Morris) after a brief stay in Nanaimo Regional Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Lawrence on February 10 this year. She will be lovingly remembered and profoundly missed by her family.
Mom is survived by; daughter Celia Caschetto, son Stephen (Marlene) Stahley, and daughters Patti (Brent) Harmon and Pamela (Peter) Woolgar; grandchildren Jennifer, Fraser (Anja), Krystina, Hailey and Tyler; as well as great-grandchildren Colby, Lukas, Eli and Emily.
Mom was born October 15, 1936 in New Westminster, BC. She grew up in Maple Ridge on her grandmother's family property. Mom had an extensive family network of cousins whom she kept in touch with throughout her life. Many of Mom's lifelong friends still live in Maple Ridge.
Mom married Dad in 1958 and they moved to Vancouver Island. After time in logging camps on the west coast, they put down roots in Parksville where they settled for almost 55 years. Stahley Pl. off Wembley Road will be one of their legacies.
Mom loved; hummingbirds, "her" deer, dogs, any type of fire, flowers, reading, crossword puzzles, her friends, going on walks, Chemanus Theatre and family dinners. She was always up for an outing.
Mom's main purpose seemed to be to care for others. She was a loving mother and was always there for us. She raised her family and cared for Dad right up until he passed. With his passing, her work was done.
Our families thank the many fine staff members at Stanford Place in Parksville for their kindness and care of our mother. A private family service is planned as per Mom's request. She asked that in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.
