TAYLOR, Peter Brian

January 24, 1932 – October 4, 2015

Peter died peacefully surrounded by his loving family, at NRGH on Sunday night, October 4th. He will be truly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 38 yrs, Sandra; his sons Russell (Giselle), Warren & daughter Elaine (Brian); Sandy’s daughters Karen (Derek), Mary-Jo (Jeff) and son John (Silvija); 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and 6 step-grandchildren, as well as his brother Gordon (Joan), a niece and 3 nephews.

Peter was born in Kingston-Upon-Hull, Yorkshire, and at the age of 16, he and Gordon, at the urging of their father to have a trade, began their apprenticeship as bricklayers. In the mid-fifties, Peter and his first wife immigrated to Canada, settling in Vancouver. His work life included construction on the Port Mann Bridge, several years with Pan-Abode Buildings and also that of Building Inspector.

Singing was Peter’s gift, and through the many years of competition and performance in England, he developed a rich and distinctive Baritone voice. This love of singing continued in Vancouver, and later in Victoria, where he performed both in opera, operetta and musical theatre. He spent many years singing in and conducting church and community choirs.

Peter and Sandy moved to Parksville, December 2001 and the following spring became enthusiastically involved with the Parksville Lawn Bowling Club where many wonderful hours were spent on and off the green with fellow bowlers.

Sandy wishes to thank Dr. Hector Baillie, nurse Honeylette, (Heart Function Clinic), Dr. Laura McLean, (Duncan) and family Dr. Robert Maccari for their care and compassion.

A private Celebration of Life will be held for

Peter later in November.
