PHYLLIS MCKINNEY
April 13, 1915 to March 9, 2015
Phyllis, the eldest daughter of Charles and Anna Ward, was born in Toronto and was a longtime secretary in Peterborough, Ontario before moving to Burlington and eventually to Qualicum Beach.
She was predeceased by her brother Harvey Ward, sister Helen Evans, husbands Harry Race and Quirt McKinney and special friend Bill Ambler.
She will be sadly missed by her brother Bruce Ward (Shirley), daughter Carol Gemgembre (Michael), son Allan Race (Lesley), and stepchildren Bob McKinney (Mary), Terry McKinney (Bev) and Nora Boon, along with grandchildren Christie Lomore (Doug), Colin Race (Patti), and Patricia Smith (Don) and great-grandchildren Annabel, Victoria, Lucas and Amaranth, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and step-family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held on
Monday, April 13 at 11am at St. Stephen’s United Church in Qualicum Beach.
