Ralph Norman Colin Kenney

KENNEY, Ralph Norman Colin. October 5, 1925 - January 4, 2004. Ralph passed away peacefully in his sleep in Parksville, BC. Raised on the farm at Shipman, Saskatchewan, Ralph moved to BC in 1955. He was a long-standing member of the Operating Engineer’s Union

#115 and worked on many large projects including the W.A.C. Bennett Dam, Duke Point, and Sea to Sky Highway. Ralph is survived by his four children, Phyllis, Parksville; Ross, Nanaimo; Russell, Duncan and Shirley, Nanaimo and his grandchildren; Douglas (Twila); Sherry Lynn Fantillo (Mike); Robert, Rod, Lisa Becker and great-grandchildren; Madison, Laughlin, and Desirae. He is also survived by his former wife Bejay Kenney, Nanaimo; three sisters; Nellie Philpott, Sarnia; Beatrice Shaner, Vernon, and Eileen Hoda, Prince Albert and former wife Edna Read, North Vancouver. Ralph enjoyed his years as a resident in Trillium Lodge and was extremely proud of his volunteer position. He especially enjoyed his interactions with the staff, residents and many guests. Friends and family are invited to share their memories on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at Trillium Lodge in Parksville at 1 p.m. Ralph’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all of the staff of Trillium Lodge for the incredible care given to dad during his three years with them.
