Raymond C. Gill

December 21, 1927- November 7, 2013

Ray passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 7th, in the Palliative Care Unit of the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital surrounded by family, in his 86th year.

Ray was born in Manchester, England on December 21, 1927, the youngest of seven siblings. Predeceased by parents. Clarence and Alice Gill; brother, Alfred; sisters, Lilian, Alice, Clarice, and Dorothy. He is survived by Margaret, his loving wife and best friend of 57 years; son, Richard – grandchildren Chelsea and Tyler, and their mother, Cheryl; daughter, Alison (Mitchell) – grandchildren, Nathan and Devon; brother, Roy; numerous nieces and nephews in England, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand.

A private family graveside service will be held at Qualicum Beach Cemetery at a later date.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit for the wonderful attention and exceptional care given to Ray and family members during his illness.
