Raymond Frank PITT


1919 – 2008

Beloved husband of Margaret of Qualicum Beach, BC. On the 17th of November, Raymond passed away, unexpectedly but peacefully, aged 89 following 65 yrs of married happiness. Left to mourn his loss is son Brian (Colleen), his grandchildren: Aaron Pitt (Rowan Helliwell), Allegra King (Jason) and his great-grandchildren: Trinity Pitt and Elijah and Simone King.

Raymond grew up in England and joined the British Army in September 1939 at the outset of the Second World War. He was a veteran of Dunkirk, West Africa and received mention in dispatches for his service in the Burma Campaign. After immigrating to Canada in 1955, Raymond joined the CMHC in 1956 and was Senior Branch Appraiser for Vancouver Island for 25 yrs. He was a resident of Victoria for 43 yrs and for the last 10 yrs lived in Qualicum Beach.

A Memorial Service was held on Monday, November 24, 2008, at Knox United Church, Parksville, BC.

Flowers gratefully declined. A donation in Raymond’s memory may be made to the Parksville Salvation Army.
