He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his wife of 51 years, Melody. Also survived by his sons John (Shari) of Kanata, ON and Steven of Sidney, BC; his brother Ted Lahey (Pat) of Dartmouth, NS and sister Joanne James, Dartmouth; three grandchildren Gabriel, James and Hannah-Rose Leahy of Kanata, On.
Richard (Dick) was born in Dartmouth, NS, son of the late James and Vinetta Lahey. He proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 36 years. He and Melody enjoyed making great memories and friends across Canada and Bermuda. Upon retiring in 1990 to French Creek, Dick was happy to work in his yard and garden; also played several sports in his younger years, enjoying many hours of fishing in the Rivers of Haida Gwaii.
Many thanks to the nurses and care aides in Eagleview Unit, Stanford Seniors Village for their wonderful care of Richard in the last six months of his life.
