ROBERT ALLAN (Bob) TAGGART

September 11, 1947-January 26, 2016

It is with profound sadness that we announce that Bob passed away in his sleep in Revelstoke while enroute from Calgary to Vancouver.

He was predeceased by his father Robert in 1963 and his loving mother Dorothy in 2012.

Bob grew up and lived in Vancouver before moving to Qualicum Beach in 1995. He was a long haul truck driver and crisscrossed the continent for over fifty years. He was a true professional in the business. Bob had many fun and exciting stories to tell about his experiences on the road, from working with bands such as BTO and Heart in the 70’s to later driving the NWT ice roads.

Bob became a computer wizard when the rest of us were mystified and he was always willing to help us tame the beasts. He enjoyed his down time spent with family and close friends, especially when it involved a home cooked meal.

Bob leaves his brother Bruce (Virginia), his sister Jan (Harry), nephew Andrew (Chloe), niece Kirsten and three great nieces as well as a large loving group of cousins here in BC and Australia, and his Aunt Joyce in Abbotsford.

We will all miss his crusty good humour and soft hearted concern for family, friends and his animal companions. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held later this year.

Drive into the light Bob, and rest easy.
