Robert (Bob) Klaassen passed away peacefully on June 21, 2021 at the age of 96.
He was predeceased by his first wife of 41 years, Audre. Together they had three daughters, Joanne Watson (Stan) Parksville; Barbara Creighton (Alan) Calgary; and Eleanor Scott (Rob) Christina Lake, BC.
He was also predeceased by his second wife of 14 years, Vickie; and his partner of 2 years, Glesni and all his siblings.
Born and raised in Rosthern, Sask, Bob spent many years in construction, then worked for the City of Moose Jaw and later retired from the building inspection dept of the City of Calgary.
Family came first for him and he was always there through our ups and downs. He would say for every problem there is a solution. His love of animals translated into his passion for woodcarving and he was very proud of the many ribbons he won for his animal carvings.
He had many wonderful friends in the Oceanside Woodcarvers Club. He loved to play cards and mini golf with his three special lady friends, beanbag baseball at the Parksville Senior Centre, go dancing at the legion, paint pictures and work in his garden.
Everyone who knew Bob will remember his charm and love of life.
As well as his 3 daughters, he is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, Ben, Adrienne, Lucas, Stacey, Brady, Christina and Carly as well as 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He will also be missed by his stepson Bob (Lorraine)Victoria, and their two sons Jeremy and Ryan and families.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to Dad's "family" of staff at Eagle Park for their wonderful care and compassion.
There will be no service at his request.
