In loving memory ~
Bob passed peacefully after sustaining a brain injury from a fall in July. He was an only child born and raised in Vancouver by his loving parents, Joseph and Edith. Upon graduating from Vancouver Technical Secondary he married his high school sweetheart Jo Anne (Alexander). They quickly started a family, Brian, Brenda (Dean) Washington, and Bruce.
In 1970 they moved from Vancouver to Port Coquitlam. Bob worked most of his life as a bus driver for BC Transit and maintained relationships with co-workers throughout the years who became dear friends.
He enjoyed several road trips with them to Reno, La Conner, as well as camping at various locations. Bob was an avid photographer and left us many slides and pictures to cherish. Bob liked watching sports almost as much as his beloved "Planet of the Apes" and "Star Trek" shows. He enjoyed bowling and played on several teams throughout the years. He loved a competitive game of crib, darts or even scrabble and you never found him without a crossword book to pass the time or his signature toothpick in his mouth.
As time went by the family dynamics changed. Bob met and fell in love with Isabel. He loved her two children, John Costain and Samantha Miller as well as their children like his own. After early retirement Bob and Isabel moved to Parksville in 2002 for a quieter life. His heart never mended after the loss of Isabel in 2020 and more recently his eldest son Brian in November 2021.
Bob leaves to mourn his children, 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandson as well as many friends and wonderful neighbours from Parksville.
The family would like to thank the numerous doctors, nurses and amazing staff at both Victoria General and Nanaimo General hospitals.
A celebration of life to take place on November 26th 2022.
