McLEAN, Robert “Hector”

Born 21 June 1919 in Melfort, Sask, passed away peacefully 26 April 2003 in Nanaimo, BC

Pre-deceased by his wife, Mary; his father, Archibald; his mother, Annie, and his brother Bert.

Survived by his daughters Elaine Duncan and Patricia (Frank) Jones; his grandsons Ian and Donal; his sisters Ann (Clarence), Margaret and Jean; his brothers Alexander (Elsie) and Neil (Velda); his very special friend Marg Harris; and his many relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

A sergeant in the army in World War II, Hector was past president of Hub City Kiwanis Club, a mason in Ashlar Lodge, and a member of Parksville Golden Oldies Association (PGOSA).

Hector’s greatest legacy is his family and friends. His caring personality, delightful smile, and gentle humour touched all who knew him.

A celebration of his life was held April 30, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Knox United Church in Parksville, BC

Flowers gratefully declined. If one so wishes, donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Cancer Society or Palliative Care Unit at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
