In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Koreman on Dec. 2, 2021 at the age of 89. Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Tjitske (Tilly) and survived by their 6 children: Renata, Raymond, Roland, Randall, Robert & Reuben and 6 grandchildren: Rachel, Danielle, Tianna, Taryn, Andrew & Ebony. Robert and Tilly came to Canada from Holland as a young couple.
Dad had a marvelous outlook on life and lots of interesting stories to share. He was incredibly funny and personable, with lots of good advice. Dad was a devoted family man who was fond of all of his children for whom he worked hard every day without complaint. Whether it was long car rides to the lake in the summer or short ones to the rink in the winter, he was always eager to go along with any suggestion from Mom. He was very proud of his family as we were of him. Sadly, he outlived Mom by half a decade and had a hard go as his eyesight slowly faded to black, but throughout it all, he managed to keep his sense of humour and those of us around him enjoyed his company right to the end. We were able to visit with him and say our goodbyes despite the difficulty of travel and the pandemic and for that we are truly thankful.
We are going to miss you, Dad. I know lots of people will.
There will be no service, but donations to the North Island Wildlife Recovery Association (Errington) or The Old School House Art Centre (Qualicum) in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
