Robert Leeman Swan ADAMSON
June 4, 1925 – April 19, 2017
Surrounded by his loving family, Bob passed away peacefully after a short stay in the very good care of the staff at the Eagle Park Health Care Facility in Qualicum Beach.
He is survived by his loving wife, Garaine; sons, Lee (Sheila), Mark (Debi), Neil (Annette); sister, Sylvia of England; grandchildren, Jessica, Robin, Nial, Cory, Timothy, Andrew, Natasha, and Marissa; great grandchildren, Jack, Rachel, Jeyden, Autumn, and Aria. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Eva and brother, Denis.
Born in Sunderland, England, Bob was raised in Harrow. While stationed in Somerset serving with the Fleet Air Arm, he met Garaine. They were married in 1948. After 20 years with Kodak Harrow, the family immigrated to Lakefield, Ontario. Continuing with instrumentation, he spent 22 years with General Electric in Peterborough, Ontario. Bob and Garaine relocated to Nanoose Bay when he retired from GE.
Bob was an avid tennis player and curler. A good dad to his boys, he became a “Big Brother” after they grew up and left the family home.
The family extend many thanks for their excellent care to Doctors Lipsey, Szachnowska, and Haslett.
Loved by all, he will be sadly missed.
