In loving memory ~
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert William Ohs (Bob). After battling cancer for a year and a half Bob passed away peacefully on January 22nd. Bob is predeceased by his wife, Loretta Ohs (Lori) in November of 2020. He missed her terribly in the 14 months that they were apart, and we take comfort in knowing they are together again. He is survived by his four sons: Brad(Kim), Rob(Anne), Dan(Khanitta), Tim(Mary Jane) - and his beloved Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Bob was born and raised on Vancouver Island in Port Alberni. He believed in a strong work ethic that he learned from his parents. His earliest jobs were working at the sawmill and then the pulp mill. After that Bob went into the car business where he ascended to Dealer Principle with Ford, and later Honda. He always went to work regardless of the circumstances of the day. His work ethic has guided his family and set an example to aspire to.
In their fifty's Bob and Lori moved to Mesa Arizona to semi retire. This semi retirement turned into an impressive second career in the manufactured home business that saw Bob become a leader in the industry. He was recognized with a National award in 2003 for Land Lease Community of the Year for The National Manufactured Home Industry in the USA.
Bob and Lori travelled extensively throughout their life together and saw much of the world. Their many trips with family and extended family, including Lori's beloved sisters and their husbands, were among their most treasured memories.
Our Dad lived a rich and colourful life full of accomplishments and challenges. He was always there when we needed him, and there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for his family. We are so grateful for his life and love. Rest in peace Dad.
