Roderick Norman Fraser

December 22, 1940 – November 8, 2016

As Rod was in the garden doing what he loved, looking out at the ocean, enjoying the breeze, he peacefully slipped away on November 8, 2016.

Rod leaves the love of his life, Eileen after 30 years together. He will also be lovingly remembered by his son, Barclay (Wendy); his adopted son, Jason of the First Nation Coast Salish; and daughter, Allison (Tyson). Rod leaves 3 beautiful grandchildren; Zack (Allyson), Cameron and Kimiko. His sister Marion (Dave); Gwen, mother of Cameron; as well as many other family and friends. Rod was predeceased by his late wife Judy when his two children, Allison and Jason, were very young.

Rod was a good man, kind, loving, humble, and giving. He had a great sense of humour. Rod was very intelligent with a strong faith.

Rod worked in Environmental Health: he was the Chief Environmental Health Officer for the City of New Westminster. Upon moving to the island, he worked as a Community Care Licensing Officer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday November 19, 2016 at the Parksville Fellowship Baptist Church
