McFARLEN, Roi
Passed away peacefully in his home in Madison Court on
April 19, 2005 at the age of 90.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ronelda; daughters Eleanor (Michel), Rae (Bill),
sons Brydon (Judy), and Dean (Cathy); eight grandchildren: Sheridan, Marc, Blair, Jes,
Kiley, Jenny, Kara, and Lauren; and three great-grandchildren: Dartanyon, Benjamin and
Victoria; and one sister Loraleigh; and several nieces and nephews.
Roi was born on March 28, 1915 in Mornington Township, Perth County, Ontario. Roi and
Ronelda farmed there for over 20 years before moving to Vancouver, BC. A few years later
they enjoyed life on a hobby farm on Cedar Road near Ladysmith where he pursued his
interests in beekeeping, gardening, chickens and goats. In 1997 they moved to their
retirement home in Parksville.
He will dearly be missed for his sense of humour, kindness and gentle manner. Anyone
who met him loved him and anyone who knew him will never forget him.
A family celebration of life has taken place.
The family extends our warm thanks to the Parksville Community Services and Home
Support.
