ROLAND “Roly” CECIL REYNAUD

December 6, 1935 - August 4, 2013

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roland Reynaud on August 4, 2013 @ 7:29 p.m. following a Cerebral Hemorrhage. Roland is survived by his wife of 20 years, Elaine, his daughter Michelle (Jon McEwan) and his dearly loved granddaughter Malena. He is also survived by two Stepsons, Robert (Shelley) and Ken (Romi Weiss) Friss and three grandchildren, Katarina, Dorian and Ty. He was predeceased by his parents Flavien and Cecile.

Roland spent his early years and was educated in Saskatchewan.

After receiving his degree in Civil Engineering he worked in Canada however a highlight for him was working in Libya on a project called the Great Man Made River Project which involved extracting water from beneath the desert.

He loved sports, played and coached hockey, became an excellent golfer and was an active member of the Edmonton Golf and Country Club for many years. Following retirement he and Elaine moved to Qualicum Beach where he made many friends and enjoyed playing golf, bridge and most of all walking his dogs and Skypeing Malena. He learned to enjoy cooking and gardening and was pleased to serve guests his baking. He was a big and gentle man who strove for goodness, accepted life on life’s terms and until his last day was committed to the health and welfare of his family.

A Memorial for Roland will be held at the Thalassa restaurant in the

Qualicum Beach Memorial Golf Club Saturday, August 17, 2013 from 3 till 6 p.m.
