In Loving Memory ~ Ron Thierry has passed away at 97. He was a stubborn, go-with-gusto bushman and ex-Manitoba farm boy who always had an opinion and lived his life striding down challenging paths.
Ron had an unyielding work ethic, and leaves behind a legacy of adventures, from living on Baffin Island in the early 1940s to running fly-fishing camps in northern Quebec. He flew around North America in charge of aerial survey crews and worked as a service technician for Sears for many years.
When Ron left us, he was tired and ready to go. He missed Effie, his wife of 57 years, and he was frustrated he could no longer remember how to fix things, which was one of his superpowers.
He's now gone to meet Effie, who has been waiting patiently with two forks and one of her world-famous apple pies. With love and appreciation from his daughter, Joy, and son, Lindsay, and their two families: Evan, Emily, and Alyd, and Ginette, Dalen, Kelton, and Chantelle, and his special friend, Marie Taylor.
His family thanks the staff at Stanford Seniors Village for their kindness and patience while caring for Ron these last three years.
He will be missed.
