Ronald "Ronnie" Samson Clowes, 87, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday March 27, 2021. He will be remembered as a devoted husband to Alphonsine whom he shared 66 years of marriage with.
Ronald was born in Ellesmere Port, England, on July 14, 1933 to Samson and Violet Ruth. He had a love for football and was playing for Ellesmere Port when he was asked to play semi professional for Everton. Ronald and Alphonsine moved to Canada in the mid 1980's where they eventually made Qualicum Beach their home.
He is survived by his wife Alphonsine, daughters Michele (Stephen), Tina (Steven) and sister Joan. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Maleika (Harald), Trevor (Kristin, children Hayden and Kiptyn), Kirsty (Adam, children Grayson and Brennan), Carl, Keegan (Jessica, children Weldon).
He was predeceased by his mother and father, brothers Bob, Ben, Vic and Norman, and his sisters Doris and Ethel.
A memorial service was held on April 12, 2021 by The Anglican Parish of St Mark with interment at the Qualicum Beach Cemetery.
