Rosanna “Florence” (Wiley) Nielsen, age 87, died in Red Deer, Alberta on November 5, 2016. Florence was born May 28, 1929, in Drumheller, Alberta, to Wayne and Pearl Wiley. She married Andrew Nielsen in 1948. Florence is survived by her children: Allan, Leslie, Kathy, Norma, Howard, Barry; 21 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren. she is predeceased by her son Keith (2015). Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. PSALM 116:15 In Florence’s own words: “I was born in Drumheller, Alberta, at the end of the roaring 20’s and the beginning of the great depression. My family moved to the Rimbey area and then to Red Deerin about 1934 when my dad went into the construction business. I worked in the Post Office and met my husband, Andrew, there. We were married and moved to the Pixley farm in the Hill End district [Penhold, AB]. The neighbours had fun watching this city girl trying to be a farmer. One of our neighbors had six kids! I ended up with seven and am happy and thankful for each one. I have enjoyed living. I would do it again if I could. I’d do some things better, hopefully. Relationships and a relationship with God through Jesus Christ is why we were created. I am sad to go, but we are all terminal and I have enjoyed my “term”. I know that I will be busy in the spiritual kingdom and have joy beyond measure. You who know Jesus will come to me and we will be with Christ forever. My husband, son, grandsons, brother, and sister were waiting for me to come. God is so good. I will live in the house of the Lord forever.”
