Ross Stevenson Gibson
April 23, 1934 - May 22, 2015
Ross passed away peacefully at Nanaimo General Hospital on Friday, May 22nd.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, May; daughter, Margaret (Ian) Smith; grandchildren, Brandon (Caroline), Dean (Kelly), Tracy, Jonathon (Sabrina); and great grandchildren, Cayle, Maren, and Cali.
Over the years, Ross touched the lives of many through his interests which included gardening, golf, entertaining in dance, as well as singing with several groups such as the Stampede City Chorus and Calgary Men Folk singing.
During his years on Vancouver Island, Ross’s membership in the Masonic Concord Lodge Number 79, the Robert Burns Club of Nanaimo, and the congregation of St. Columba Presbyterian Church, brought him the greatest of joy and many wonderful friendships that he held so dear.
A private service was held for Ross on Wednesday May 27th at Yates Funeral Chapel. His final resting place will be in his homeland of Scotland, at Ballengeich Cemetery, in Stirling.
