Roy Leslie Gallop

July 29, 1930 – March 8, 2016

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roy, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Roy was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Ann; sister, Hilda; and brothers, Walt, Doug, Stan, and Vic. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Shirley; daughters, Denise, Janice (Jon); and son Stephen (Cynthia); seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Roy was born and raised in Victoria and spent his working life at the Victoria Machinery Depot as a welder boiler maker. He and Shirley moved to Qualicum in 1992 and spent their retirement on the Little Qualicum River, “living the dream”. Roy was a proud member of Branch #76 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Qualicum Beach.

In keeping with Roy’s wishes there will be no formal service. The family wishes to thank NRGH, the Doctors, Nurses, and support staff on the 5th floor for their kindness and compassion during his time with them.

He will always be loved

and in our hearts forever.
