Samuel (Sam) English Megaw passed away peacefully at home on May 5, 2013 at the age of 88. He was predeceased by his loving wife Agnes (Nan) in 2008. He leaves family in Scotland, Calgary, Saskatoon and the Lower

Mainland.

Sam was born in Conquest, Saskatchewan to Thomas and Susan Megaw, the middle of three sons.

He served in WWII as a Merchant Marine on board the HMS Belfast, a Royal Navy light cruiser that patrolled the Atlantic as well as the South Pacific. It was during the war that Sam met his wife to be, Agnes French at Calmachie, Scotland. They were married on February 28th, 1948.

Sam served as Engine Oilman in the Canadian Merchant Marine until 1951. Following his tour of service, he was employed by Dairyland in Burnaby and later transferred to their Courtenay plant where he worked until his retirement in 1988.
