It is with great sadness that we announce the end of a precious life. My Mom, Sadie, valiantly faced many health challenges, remaining steadfast and strong until the end. Her grandson, Robert and I are filled with gratitude that we were able to surround her with love on her last day in Victoria's Royal Jubilee Hospital.

My mother adored her family, and was instrumental in gathering us together even though we found ourselves spread over great distances. Predeceased by her husband Robert Spencer Boyle, and her son Christopher Jay Boyle, she leaves behind: her daughter Cathy Behrenbruch and partner Barry Kassen; her daughter-in-law Misako Hamamoto; her grandsons Robert Behrenbruch and fiance Lauren Bartholomew, Jasper Boyle, and Osamu (Sammy) Boyle.

Sadie was born in Airdrie, Scotland and immigrated to Canada with her parents when she was eight months old. She was raised in Vancouver and experienced a happy life as an only child. She reminisced often about her close-knit family and about the Sunday dinners with her aunts, uncles, and cousins.

My Mom and Dad began their married life together in the town of Osoyoos. They then moved to many towns throughout the province of B.C. as "Bob" received promotions in the education system. Osoyoos became our family's "touch stone" and we continue to spend our holidays in the paradise that has provided a constant, a stability, and a joy for us over so many years. We remember with great fondness sharing wonderful times with family and friends at our cabin on the lake.

Sadie had high expectations in life! She created a community of devoted friends who have been an important priority over our lifetime. She kept in close contact with the people who were important to her, and always celebrated their achievements. Now we count our blessings for the strength and energy she committed to building this foundation, and leaving us such a loving support system. They circle us always; in times of need, and in times of celebration. We are truly thankful to all those to whom we include in "our family".

Mom was an organizer. She loved to plan! And we are so appreciative of her generosity, and realize the impact and privilege that has been offered to us through her support. Because of my parent's hard work and conscientious management, they created a comfortable Canadian lifestyle. Consequently, many generations have benefited.

Sadie delved in many activities that satisfied her curious mind and her passion about life. She was: an avid bridge player, an enthusiastic traveller, a voracious reader, an energetic volunteer, a creative artist, and a gracious hostess.

Even though my mother endured poor health for many years, she never lost her strong will to adhere to her values. She was a force! She experienced an exciting and rewarding life. May she rest in peace after a life well lived. We will miss you, Mom, but you will forever be with us in our hearts and in our thoughts.

A "Celebration Of Life" is to be announced. It will be held in late September in Qualicum Beach, B.C.
