Sheila was born in Rhyl, N. Wales into a military family. She lived in many places, including Germany, before coming to Canada with her family in 1955. They settled in Virden MB where she completed her high school. She made many lifelong friends there. Then it was on to Business College to became a secretary and work in Winnipeg. She married her husband Robert in 1962. Sheila stayed home to raise her sons in their early years before returning to her secretarial career. She worked in a few places, but most enjoyed her time at Brandon University where she worked as a secretary in the Science and later the Education Department. After that, she worked as a secretary at St. George’s Anglican Church. In retirement, she and Robert moved to Parksville in 2001. Sheila was an intelligent, happy, outgoing and loving person. She liked to help others and was an active member in Grandmothers to Grandmothers, being their “Sunshine Lady”. Sheila loved knitting Teddy Bears for the Caring Canadians Group. She was actively involved with PGOSA, TOPS, the UCW and Sisters United as well as giving some of her time to the Breast Cancer Group in Qualicum and the Osteo Arthritis Group in Parksville. She also had past involvement with Pastoral Care Lunches and the Altar Guild at St Edmund and St Anne’s and the Parksville Lioness Club. There was much enjoyment from golfing and the Generals hockey games.

Sheila is survived by her husband Robert, son Daniel (Valerie), son Allan (Cynthia), special son Brent (Lori), granddaughter Jessica (Cayle) and grandson Brennan and her brother-in-law Dennis Molloy. She was pre-deceased by her infant son Andrew, her parents James & Josephine Bulger and her sister Patricia.

There will be a celebration of Sheila’s Life at Knox United Church, 345 Pym St. in Parksville on Tuesday, May 24th at 1:00 pm.
