September 17, 2004

In Loving Memory of

McBURNEY, Sheila Deanne

Sheila lost her battle with cancer on September 17, 2004, two days after her 51st birthday. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her parents Stuart and Hazel McBurney (Swift Current, Saskatchewan), her sister Jackie (Grant) Magnuson (Swift Current, Saskatchewan), her niece Lee Sparks (Swift Current, Saskatchewan), her niece Terri (Jarrod) Schous (Regina, Saskatchewan), her great niece Alex Sparks, great nephew Kyle Sparks and great nephew Braydon Schous, her sister Candace Lourdes (Toronto, Ontario), along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. She leaves behind her beloved cat Sammy and many close friends.

Sheila was born and raised on a farm in Southern Saskatchewan. She attended the University of Saskatchewan and lived in many locations in Alberta and British Columbia and eventually settled in the Parksville/Nanaimo area where she spent the majority of her adult life. Her accounting background eventually led her to establish her own successful business that she continued to work at until her death. She was dedicated, meticulous, professional and will be missed by all her clients. The family would like to thank all of her close friends who were there for her and us, your assistance and love for her will always be treasured. A very special thanks to Dr. Desai of Parksville whose professionalism, directness, compassion and friendship made Sheila's journey so much easier for her. We would like to thank the staff at the Palliative Care Unit in the Nanaimo hospital who made her last days as comfortable as possible and for treating her with such dignity.

In memory of Sheila, please plant a tree or donations may be made to the SPCA
