Sheila Lindsay 1930-2014

Sheila Lauraine Lindsay (nee Machum) passed away peacefully with family by her side, on Thursday October 23, 2014 in Qualicum Beach. Born January 7, 1930 in Halifax Nova Scotia. She will be interred at Camp Hill Cemetery in Halifax Nova Scotia in 2015.

Sheila grew up in Nova Scotia and spent many summers

in the St. Margaret’s Bay area. Glen Margaret to

Peggy’s Cove was her stomping grounds. Sheila married Neville Lindsay in July 1954 and moved west to Calgary where they enjoyed many years in the Stampede city. They raised three children in Calgary and were very active in the community and service

organizations. Neville passed away in 1983. Sheila moved to Qualicum Beach to enjoy the ocean, family and community. She was very active in golfing, sailing,

floral & creative arts and a number of community

interest groups. She loved travelling, sailing and was able to explore many parts of Vancouver Island.

Sheila really enjoyed her garden and the beaches,

especially when sharing the time with her children and grandchildren. Seashells, sandcastles, beach walks and stories were all part of her life in Qualicum

Beach. She also enjoyed her many trips to other parts of Canada visiting family and friends.

Sheila is survived by her three children, eight

grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Ian/Ann Lindsay of Qualicum Beach, Jonathan Lindsay

and Elizabeth Layton, North Vancouver, Heather and Scott Blackwell (Indiana) of Victoria and Rhianna

Lindsay of Qualicum Beach. Rob/Karen Lindsay, Meghan and Chad Cooper, Steven and Stephanie Lindsay (Holden and Nixie), Andrew Lindsay all of

Edmonton. Laura Gene/Glen Pardoe, Duncan Pardoe,

Scott Pardoe all of Calgary.

Sheila’s remembrance wish was for her family and friends to visit

a favourite waterfront area and skip a few stones in her memory.

Remember the good times.
