HOWELL, Sheila Pauline
Passed away on December 5, 2003 at the age of 82 years, in Qualicum Beach, BC
She leaves to celebrate her life, her loving husband of 53 years, John; children Jill, Sue (Dave), John (Sheila), and Leigh (Diane); grandchildren John, Jeremy, Andrew, Nicholas, Emily and her great grandchildren; also her siblings Peggy, Barbara and Leo. Her brother David and granddaughter Leah predeceased her.
Sheila was born in London, England, and as a young woman she joined the Land Army and later the W.A.A.F., serving in Ireland and Germany. She met John at Eccleshall School, they married in 1950, and with Jill, emigrated to Canada. Sheila raised her children while John studied at O.V.C. and later, while working in Edmonton. At the age of 50, she graduated from the University of Alberta and taught school for 8 years.
Sheila and John retired to Qualicum Beach in 1980 and had 23 wonderful years together. Her final four months were spent in the gentle and loving care of the staff at Arranglen Lodge, Qualicum Beach. We would like to express our profound gratitude to all staff.
