ADAMS, Sophie

August 21, 1941 – January 20, 2010

After a long, courageous battle against lung and bone cancer, with her beloved holding her close and a favourite Rod Stewart song in the background, it is with deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Sophie at NRGH, Nanaimo, BC.

Sophie was born in Vancouver, BC and spent most of her working career with The Teamsters Union, Locals 31 and 213.

Upon retirement, Sophie moved to Qualicum Beach in 1998 and fulfilled her dream to live on a golf course. Joining Eaglecrest Golf Course and Ladies Club, Sophie became an avid, competitive golfer and member of the Hole in One Club.

She also met Rick in December of ’98 and found her soulmate to the end. Sophie was also a talented bowler and winner of many tournaments. Being an accomplished pianist, her gift of music and contagious laughter with family and friends are now consoling memories to cherish forever.

Predeceased by her parents Louis Rosta and Josephine (Rosta) Spicer, this special lady is grieved by her loving partner Rick Sing, son Steven, daughter Brenda, grandchildren; Brittany, Jesse, Damon, brothers; David (Darlene) Rosta, Andrew (Wendy) Rosta, Philip Spencer, sister Rose and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

We are forever grateful to Dr Stephen Noble, VIHA Nursing and the Oceanside Hospice Society for their care and support. Special thanks to Rose and John for always caring and helping.

A Celebration of Life will be held at

Eaglecrest Golf Club at a future date.
