Born March 30, 1921 in Victoria BC, Stan passed away on February 4, 2009 in Nanaimo Regional Hospital after

a short illness.

He was predeceased by his devoted wife Doris in 2004.

He is survived by one brother Roy of Victoria and his children Len (Barb) of Port Alberni, BC, Sharon (Alick) Smith of Coombs, BC and Carol (Gordie) Webb of Victoria, BC. Grandchildren: Cheryll Smith of Parksville, Karen Smith of Parksville, Stephanie Smith of Port Alberni, Shannon Smith of Toronto, Ontario, Joshua Jury of Nanaimo, Melissa Harris of Vancouver, and Samantha Webb of Victoria. Great-grandchildren: Alexander, Chelsea, Caden, Taylor, Brandon, Hayden, Braeden, Kyle, Brookelynne, Hanneli and Stella.

Stan was co-owner of Victoria Foundries Ltd. until his retirement in 1976 when he and Doris moved to Deep Bay. He was an avid fisherman and gardener and was a member of the Deep Bay Volunteer Fire Department from 1982 – 89. He was a life-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Bowser Branch 211 where he was an active member in his earlier years. Dad always enjoyed socializing there with his friends and neighbours on Friday and Saturday evenings.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Peter of the Bowser Legion and Dad’s neighbours Murray and Carol for their dedication to Dad these past few years.

There will be no service by request. The family will gather for a private remembrance and celebration of his life in the near future. Donations in Stan’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC or worthy cause of your choice.
