It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Stephen Payne after a very short courageous battle with cancer.
Steve was born in Nanaimo General Hospital and he grew up in Coombs. He spent most of his life in the Oceanside area and he loved the ocean and the forests. In his younger years, Steve spent some time in the Air Cadets. He spent a lot of time riding his dirt bike. Later, he became hooked on cars, and he especially loved everything Mopar.
He got a lot of pleasure out of going to car shows and studying Mopar websites in his spare time. He also liked WW2 aircraft. Steve cheered for the Canucks and the Seahawks, and he loved to go to Deez for a beer and a chat. He had a good heart. He loved his family, kids and animals. For the past several years, Steve was a proud house painter alongside his partner Carol.
Steve leaves behind to mourn, his true love and best friend Carol Olsen, Mom - Doreen Clark, Sister - Cathy Lepla (Dean), Daughter - Jazmyn Scott, Niece - Amanda Gray, Great Niece - Savannah Gray, Niece - Caitlin Lepla and Nephew - Cody Lepla. He was predeceased by his Dad - Don (1988), Brother - Mitchell (1986) and Sister - Carol Ann (1960). A celebration of Steve's life will be announced at a later date.
