Stewart Alton Manson

October 25, 1928 - March 20, 2022
Stewart Alton Manson, 93, passed away peacefully on March 20th, 2022 at his home in Parksville, BC. He was deeply loved by his family, friends and neighbours.
Stew was born October 25th 1928 in Lethbridge, AB. He spent his childhood moving around western Canada with his family eventually settling in Vancouver. Stewart graduated from Brentwood College School in 1946.
On a blind date, Stew met Helen (nee Clarke) and they were married January 29th 1953. They had 64 wonderful, fun- filled adventurous years until Helen's death in 2017.
Left to carry on Stew's legacy are his 4 children Willy Manson (Prince George) Andy Manson (Parksville), Jeff Manson (Prince George) and Sue (Greg) Mayes (Birch Bay), his grandchildren, who know him as "Pop": Will (Mandy), Krystal (Shane), Jacquie (Kevin) Ashley (Ted), Chris, Robert, Logan, Marlee and Evan. He was especially proud of his great grandchildren Reese, Morgan, Lucas, Easton, Sawyer and Sydney.
Stew was a selfless man of integrity. In 1966, the Manson clan built a cabin at Pitt Lake. Many memories were made in the years that followed.
Stewart retired from BC Hydro, then spent many years traveling the world with Helen. They especially loved to visit Maui.
Stew was a voracious reader and a life long learner. If you were ever looking for Stew, he was in his workshop, tinkering.
He could fix anything.
Now it is time to rest our sweet "Pop".
We will forever miss your signature response "Yup-mm-hm".

The family is grateful to Comfort Keeper carers, Oceanside nurse and OT and Dr Bell; with their support Dad was able to stay at home as he wished.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 23 12:00 - 1:30 pm at the Craig Bay Beach Club, 1301 Cape Cod Dr., Parksville, B.C. V9P 2T5
