Feb 7, 1944 - Nov 12, 2017
After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Suzanne passed peacefully surrounded by her family.

Born under a flurry of bombs in Bournemouth, England, Suzanne became the youngest person to cross the Atlantic Ocean. She was raised in New Brunswick and moved to Winnipeg in 1959. The eldest of four children, Suzanne became Lady Stick at St. John's College and one year later, received her teaching degree from the University of Manitoba.

In the same year, she wed Ray Ford in a union that resulted in the birth of two beautiful children, Lesleigh and James, and an 18-year marriage. She met her beloved husband Bill while teaching in the Winnipeg School Division. After a whirlwind romance, they married in 1983 and spent the next 34 years sharing a love of travel, camping, gardening, and geocaching.

Suzanne was an enthusiastic and active volunteer in the community and amongst the fellowship. There will be many who will miss her ability to inspire, her capacity to lead, and her boundless energy. Whether she was designing a dinner party, sharing a good bottle of wine with friends, or entertaining with her gift of storytelling, she was truly one-of-a-kind.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and care workers in the clinic, the cancer agency and the palliative care program for their care and support through this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a charity of choice in her honour.

Suzanne is survived by her husband Bill, daughter Lesleigh (Cory) Morriseau, son James Ford (Michelle Pink) and grandchildren Dylan, Taylor, Cash and Scout.

The funeral will be held at St. Mark's Church on Tuesday, November 21 at 1:30 pm.
